I like this deal. I know Damon is a better option but a 1year deal leaves us primed for next years FA market. Mauer is the big attraction with Posada moving to DH:thumbup:

Good signing. The only issue with Johnson is his health and being a DH will help.
I was thinking the Sox might sign him because of the money Beltre is asking for and move Youks to third. Sox need to do something about third (or sign a first baseman and move Youks). There are rumors of a possible trade with San Diego for A. Gonzalez.
The Yanks will likely make another move...no chance that shitbag Melky starts in left field?
Interesting quote...Damon has no chance of this happening. If Damon leaves Yankee Stadium his numbers will be terrible.
"The Yankees have hoped to sign Damon to a two-year deal in the range of $18 million, but the team was told by a conduit of Damon that unless the team was willing to offer at least $13 million a year -- the outfielder's salary in 2009 -- in a multi-year deal, the Yankees shouldn't even bother making an offer."

I agree mate there will be a few more moves. Melky will be traded for Lowe to sort out the rotation. Damon seems to be changing his demands. If we can get him on 2 year $18mill then it makes sense. But Holliday is still a possibility.
Gonzalez would be quality for Boston need to trade Buchoulz(sp) tho. But IMO its worth it with the rotation u currently have. If these moves do come off the AL east is going to be amazing this season! Beckett Lester Lackey DiceK and Wakefield against CC AJ Pettite Lowe Joba/Hughes looks fucking awesome to me:thumbup:
