Great news. Now Cash has to do the smart thing and leave Halladay alone. The cost is far too high. No way can we sacrifice Huges or Joba along with Jackson and Montero! It will be short term gain v long term success IMO. Doc is undoubtedly and ace and there are fewer better but the extension he wants means he will be a fair age at the end of it. I would prefer we make a move for another ace and try to keep Montero.

If Cashman (as reported) is willing to part with Kennedy, Coke and Austin Jackson for Curtis Granderson, wouldn't you be willing to go that little further and see what Halladay wanted?

IMO that deal for Granderson favours everyone except the yankees.

Its the age and length of contract that would bother me. I would rather we took Doc with no extension that way we get 2 draft picks next winter and resign him as a FA:thumbup:
