Right got sum emails back from softball league! Anyone who wants to join would be made very welcome. They play once a week in Dennistoun or Carntyne in Glasgow. We have been invited to attend an indoor game being played in Monday night in Dennistoun but I may be struggling I plat fitba on Mondays. Anyone up for checking it out let me know!

I use a 12" glove...let me see if i can dig up some old gloves ..remember its 12'' around...I put up the wrong one..the 16" one is the Chicago ball...they don't use gloves

Depends on what position you play ..you shouldn't have to pay more then 35 bucks American..I have a Louisville Slugger glove..growing up it was Franklin and Wilson..I may have an old mitt laying in my closet...I'll check when I'm busting out the Christmas stuff this weekend :thumbup:

Here in NYC..we usually chip in about 20 bucks each...the bat is shared by 15 of us...you won't need a 300 dollar bat...And with Bats it goes by length,,33-34 usually and anywhere from 25 oz to 36 oz {babe ruth used a 60 oz btw, more like a fucking tree trunk:lol:]..you can pick up a 30 dollar bat at Modells here in NYC..let me know..I can always send you one..I did for Fabi on CM..she got a Mets bat

It's a Wilson A450. Don't know too much about it but looking on the internet sohwed it is a youths and 10". Doubt that cos it fits my hand perfectly. Maybe my hand is small, i don't know.

we play with 10 fielders also (4 outfielders and the rest of the positions normal) and everyone who takes the field gets to hit. we play 7 innings also. we use the hard optic yellow 12 inch ball. i played a bit of softball in the US when i worked there for a number of summers and they tended to use the softer clincher, which was either 11 or 12. i actually prefered that (as palm balls dont sting as badly). is that the one you use also?

I'm not gonna make it down this evening after all either Kev. the weathers terrible and softball in this weather is no fun and is pretty dangerous. hopefully brighten up for next week and i'll see you the week after

Well I grew up in the city, so we didn't have much grass to play on. So Clinchers don't tear up on the pavement like the worth balls do. Plus the distance , can't hit 400 foot bombs in public parks or schoolyards in NYC.

Davey is a very streaky type player..He had a double and a 2 run HR last night. So I'm hoping he's on a good streak now. At the end of the year, it will be 300 avg...20-30 Hr's and 115-125 rbi's ..so i'm not too worried about him. Now the starting pitching ..thats a mess
